Alu Fry (Fried Potatoes)

For Beginners, Vegetables

Ingredients:
5-6 large potatoes,
1/2 tsp turmeric powder,
1 tsp red chilli powder,
Salt to taste,
Water,
Oil for frying.
ChoppedĀ  coriander for garnishing.

Method:
Peel the potatoes and cut them into big pieces. (1 large potato = 12 pieces)
Put these pieces in a kadhai, add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt and add water enough to cook the potatoes. Put the kadhai on high flame, and cover with a lid. (Pour some water on the lid) Keep mixing to avoid the potatoes from burning. Once the potatoes get cooked, add 5-6 tbsp of oil and mix well. Fry the potatoes in this oil till they turn red. Add more oil if required. Garnish with coriander and serve with parathas or curd rice.
