Jam Tarts

For Kids, Snacks and Appetizers

Ingredients:
For the tarts-
120 gms maida (seived wheat flour),
60 gms butter,
30 gms fine sugar,
A pinch of baking powder,
A pinch of salt,
Tart moulds,

For the filling-
Mixed Fruit Jam or any other jam of your choice,
Water.

Method:
In a mixing bowl, combine butter and sugar and mix till it is creamy. Sift maida, salt and baking powder. Slowly fold this maida mixture into the creamy butter and sugar mixture and mix lightly. Knead into a soft dough. Make small balls and press into the mould, spread evenly to get the shape of tarts. Remove any extra dough. Prick the tarts with fork. Add little water to the jam to get a little pouring consistency. Fill them into the tarts and then refrigerate them for 15 minutes. Then bake these frozen tarts for 15 minutes at around 160 degrees C. Garnish with wafer biscuits.
