Ingredients:
3 cups cauliflower florets,
3 medium size potatoes, cut into 1″ cubes,
2 onions, sliced,
1 tomato, cut into long pieces,
2-3 tsp jeera(cumin seeds),
1 tsp asafoetida(heeng),
2 small green chillies, chopped finely,
1/4 tsp turmeric powder,
Salt to taste,
4 tbsp oil,
Chopped coriander leaves to garnish.

Method:
Mix cauliflower florets and potatoes and boil for around 10mins. Drain and keep aside. In a kadhai, heat oil and add jeera and asafoetida. When jeera splutters add sliced onions and chopped green chillies. Cook onion till they turn transparent on medium low heat. Then add turmeric powder and tomatoes. Cover and cook for not more than 2mins. Uncover and add the boiled cualiflower and potatoes to it, mix well and let them fry till they shine, approximately for 4-5 mins. Add chopped coriander and serve hot with parathas or rotis.

Gobi is Cabbage, right ? Cauliflower is not gobi, me think.

Hi VJ,
Gobi is a generic term. Cabbage is ‘Patta Gobi’ and Cauliflower is ‘Phool Gobi’ =)
India is a vast country, vegetables are called by different names in different places. Since Foodatarian is a global site, we use Indian (Hindi) names as well as their translation in english, to avoid confusion. I hope this helps.

Regards,
Minal
