Ingredients:
3 chapatis,
1 large onion, chopped,
1 tsp mustard seeds,
1/2 tsp turmeric powder,
1 tsp red chilli powder,
1/2 tsp sugar,
Salt to taste,
Oil for frying,
Chopped coriander leaves.

Method:
Crush the chapatis into small pieces, or use the food processor to crush the chapati, but make sure you the chapatis are crushed and not ground to powder. In a kadhai, heat some oil and add mustard seeds. Let them splutter and add onion, saute it till it turns transparent. Then add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, fry for a minute and add sugar and salt*. Add the crushed chapatis and mix well. Cover with a lid, and let it steam for 2 minutes. Remove the lid, add coriander leaves, mix well and serve hot.

* Remember that chapatis may also contain some salt, so you may require little less salt than you may normally add.

Tip:
This recipe is ideal for utilising the leftover chapatis.

Hi Shubha,

Thank you Shubha for those kind words. I am glad you liked the recipe. Other suggestions for the leftover chapatis would be laddus, frankies, chapati pizzas. Keep visiting for such many more recipes.

Thanks,
Minal
