English Bread Butter Pudding
6 bread slices,
1/2 litre milk,
6 organic eggs; yolks separated from whites,
110 gms sugar,
10 ml vanilla essence,
Almonds and Pistachios; sliced,
Cherries as per taste; chopped.
Mix together egg yolks and sugar and whisk well, add vanilla essence and keep whisking. Bring the milk to boil on low flame. Now mix the egg mixture to the milk, slowly, little at a time and whisk the milk continously. Cook this mixture stirring continouosly with a spatula till the mixture thickens to a consistency like custard.
Butter the bread slices on both the sides. Then cut each bread slice into 2 triangles. Preheat the oven to 180 D C for few minutes.
Now arrange the bread slices into a baking dish. Then pour the prepared milk custard on them. Top with plenty of sliced almonds, pistachios and cherries and place into the preheat oven at 150 D C for 20 minutes. Serve hot or chilled.
