Ingredients:
4 cups flour,
2 eggs, beaten,
1 cup sugar,
1 cup milk,
1 tsp salt,
4 tbsp melted butter,
1 tsp baking soda,
1 tsp baking powder,
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg,
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon,
Oil for frying.

Method:
In a mixing bowl, sift the flour, sugar, baking soda and baking powder. Add cinnamon, nutmeg and salt and blend in the melted butter. Then stir in the milk and eggs. Mix and knead a soft dough and leave it aside for few hours.
Roll dough out and cut doughnuts with a doughnut cutter. If you do not have doughnut cutter you can use 2 biscuit cutters or sharp edged bowls with different sizes, preferably 3 inch and 1 inch diameter.
Heat oil in a wok/pan at a high flame and fry doughnuts in batches in very hot oil. Fry turning once till they turn golden brown, for about 2-3 minutes.

TIP:
1. If you prepare the dough and leave it in the refrigerator overnight, it becomes little firm and easier to roll.
2. You can make a slit in the doughnut and stuff some sweet cream, yummm!!
